CHEF AND CO-OWNER OF HIŠA LINHART
He revives forgotten Slovenian dishes and, with modern techniques, turns them into new Slovenian cuisine.
BOOK A TABLEUroš is a local. His inspiration comes from his childhood, when the family kitchen smelled of Slovenian dishes, when they made homemade sausages and enjoyed dried must-pears. He runs Hiša Linhart together with Marcela Klofutar; since 2013 they have followed one question: how to preserve our community.
Uroš and Marcela run the house with one mission: to preserve our community today for tomorrow. Discover our community and philosophy.
Local ingredients of tradition are Uroš's muses; the artist Irena Kolar has painted them for the house. Uroš breathes new life into them, keeps the memory and the scent of his mother's kitchen, and through new combinations raises their value and preserves them for the future. Every dish brings together:
Have you tried barley with must-pears, must-pear kombucha, Gorenjska sausage with must-pear or chocolate must-pear? The neighbours started planting must-pear trees because of Uroš. Have you tried trout roe? Zupan in Nomenja and Uroš were the first in Slovenia to produce Slovenian "caviar".

We want to raise the reputation of hospitality and change the role of chefs, including as teachers in primary schools. In his cookery school for children and adults, Uroš shows the beauty of cooking and service and teaches respect for local food.
